I have played the drums in a jazz band, screened a film at South by Southwest, spent a semester studying and backpacking through Europe, built a home in the back of my car and driven across the United States, and received a Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics. I have a curious mind, a do-it-yourself attitude, and a creative approach to solving problems. If you are a company full of kind people, I would really like to work with you. Here are the industries I am most passionate about:
Art & Entertainment
The following projects link to write-ups on my design processes, architecture choices, challenges, and what I found interesting through creating these projects. If you'd like to strictly look at code, visit my GitHub account.
A mobile application that uses crowd-sourced data to help users find the perfect coffee house in their area. I populated a seven table MySQL database, built a RESTful API, and designed and built an Android application using the Volley library.
A mobile application that encourages users to lead more active lifestyles by emotionally pairing their step count to the health of a digital pet. I researched current academic literature on health-related mobile applications, conducted user testing, and built both low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes.
In an investigation into the possibilities of computer humor, I generated The Onion headlines and predicted satirical headlines against legitimate news sources.
A python application that generates haiku poetry from daily news headlines or keyword-related articles. I used the Natural Language Toolkit and the Google News API and presented my research at Student Research Day.
I spent one summer road tripping around the United States by learning how to use power tools and building a home in my hatchback.
I designed and built a responsive ecommerce website for travel poetry from around the world. Integrates with PayPal to accept purchases.
